The master and doctoral programs are offered by the Nuclear Engineering Department, one of the leading human resource trainers for the Brazilian nuclear sector. It provides the students with activities in several areas: from power generation to radioisotope applications in industry, medicine, and other areas.
The department has a strong interaction with industries and companies, public and private, and participates in undergraduate education, through the Nuclear Engineering Department of the Polytechnic School of UFRJ. Its research lines focus on the following areas: Reactor Physics; Applied Nuclear Physics; Reactor Engineering; Safety Analysis, and Human Factors Engineering.
