The master’s and doctoral programs are offered by the Ocean Engineering department, which is recognized for its role in teaching and research in this area nationally and internationally.
It has laboratories that are among the most modern in the world and has a strong interaction with industries and companies, with significant achievements in the development of technology for exploration and production of oil at sea, and studies and projects focused on the coastal and environmental area and for the naval sector.
It also offers undergraduate courses, alongside with the Department of Naval and Oceanic Engineering of the Polytechnic School of UFRJ. Its lines of research focus on the following areas: Naval Engineering and Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering.
