The master’s and doctoral programs are offered by the Energy Planning department. A pioneer in Brazil, its faculty brings together the largest Brazilian research group and graduate teaching in that field. It is a national reference for the qualification in the training of human resources and research, and has contributed to the country with regard to the adoption of modern techniques of energy planning and environmental planning, with outstanding performance in the area of climate change.
Characterized by the transdisciplinary approach, the Energy Planning department combines the technological dimension of energy with political, economic, social and environmental aspects. It has close relationship with companies and institutions of the energy sector, offering opportunities to students to participate in research projects in the areas of energy and environment.
The research lines of the department focus on the following areas: Energy Economics; Energy Models; Energy Technology; and Energy and Environment. The Environmental Planning programs focus on Environmental Economics; Environmental Models; Environmental management; and Energy and Environment.
